 (Atlanta,
GA 2006) TFFPS conferred
its inaugural grant to Lukan scholar Paul Elbert. Due to the grant,
which covered transportation, accommodations, and conference
registration, Professor Elbert was enabled to attend the 2006
Conference of the Society for Pentecostal Studies at Fuller Seminary
in Los Angeles and present his paper “Probable Literary Connections
Between Luke-Acts and Pauline Letters Regarding Spirit-Language,” a
groundbreaking paper that discusses the intertextuality of Luke-Acts
and the Pauline letters, suggesting that Luke, writing in the
literary environment of the Greco-Roman progymnasmatic
narrative-rhetorical tradition, was providing clarification of
Paul’s Spirit-gifting and Spirit-interiority language.
